July 2012

Here's to catching up...

Every few years, my grandparents get tickets to the Fourth of July Oakley Rodeo. This year we got to go. We spent some time at the cabin with my grandparents before the rodeo and then went back to spend the night after the rodeo with many of the cousins. It was lots of fun. I have always loved going to the rodeo and have tried to get Chad to go to a rodeo with me since we've been married. He could never figure out why I loved rodeos so much because he's never been to a quality rodeo. Thank goodness he was impressed. He had fun and so did both the kids. Amy slept through the first half and was wide eyed when the bucking broncs took over. Kiley loved seeing the horses and cheering for the barrel riders. The clowns were fabulous this year and had some pretty good jokes.
Look at that hair.

Amy loves to be on her tummy

Kiley loves being with Amy.

So this summer, we've had a ton of wasps around our yard. They just don't seem to go away. Chad has spent many afternoons and evenings finding their nests and spraying them.

Checking it out before spraying.

Spraying the nest. The next picture (which I missed) would be of him running away.

This is Kiley and her friend Davin. He and his parents moved soon after this picture to Oregon for Optometry school. Kiley and Davin had a lot of fun dancing to the Wiggles. They were absolutely hilarious!!

They both thought it was really funny to bang their head on the ground. They would take turns and laugh as the other would bang their head. They are pretty funny. We sure miss those Blancos!!

Kiley loves to help with the laundry.

Long Day?

Kiley spent a week falling asleep in random places. This was my favorite. More to come.

Cute Sisters

She loves to squish her cheeks and smile. "I am a guppie. Guppies don't smile, but I do."

Playing with the rainbows made by the light through our window.

Quackie, our duck.

Eating the leftover dough and flour.

Asleep in the doorway

One morning we didn't find her in her bed, but instead on the floor next to the couch. It appeared she was trying to get to the kitchen and fell back asleep before she got there.

Outside our back window

Lovin' the chocolate chip cookie

Throughout July, we had a lot of storms roll through. It seemed like almost every afternoon we could plan on at least a few sprinkles if not a downpour. These are some picts of the storms as they came through.

Chad caught some lightening. It only took about 300 pictures to get these 3.

Kiley's now 2!!

(This post was written in July, but I forgot to publish it. Oops. Life gets busy.)

KILEY IS A 2 YEAR OLD!!!

We love her so much!
She is as busy as ever if not more. She is super cute though.
Her vocabulary is growing and she is getting to a point where others are understanding her.
She also loves to play with friends now.

Our cute 2 year old loves to help her dad wash the jeep. And if it's dirty, she likes to remind Dad that it's dirty.

Opening presents and so excited!

Amy loves her swing and loved watching Kiley open presents!

Kiley's new trike from grandma Mar. She loves this trike and so

Birthday breakfast muffins

We took Kiley swimming after her nap. The day was beautiful, until we got to the lake. Then the storms began moving in and it cooled off really quick. Kiley only wanted to swim for a few minutes.

Dad and the cold birthday girl.
Amy was happy just watching

Kiley's birthday cake. We invited some friends over to have cake and icecream with us. Kiley loved playing with the kids.
The day after Kiley's birthday was Amy's 3 month b-day. She's getting big and super cute!

June

So I realize I'm way behind in posting but here are some pictures from our June adventures. Don't worry, these are not all of our June adventures, just some.

Well the month of June was a busy one. The first weekend we spent at my grandparent's cabin. The first weekend after Memorial Day, the property owners get together to fix fences, ditches, cut dead fall, and just whatever is in need that year. Chad got to help do something at the pump station. I know not what he did, not what a pump station is, and I don't really care so don't try to explain. :) While the men were working hard, the kids were playing harder. Lindsey, Asher and our family spent the night up at the cabin with Grandma and Grandpa. Kiley and Asher had so much fun running wild.
Asher learning a thing or two about billiards(aka: pool)

Kiley is dancing around the pool table to the player piano. She had so much fun dancing.

Kiley and Asher loved being on this chair. It spins around and they thought it was great. Amy wasn't quite so sure. They are such cute cousins!!

So after the men had finished helping with the community stuff, it was time to get to work on our own cabin. This was the year to clean the fireplaces. After the fireplaces were mostly done, the majority of us took off to eat lunch. Chad, my Dad and uncle Brad (we made sure it was only the "-ad's")stayed back to finish up.
I was standing in the food line with my mom, aunt Janet, Kiley, Amy and most important, my cousin Parker. Parker is 17 and will be a senior at Jordan High this next year. He is 6 foot something and super handsome! Anyway, while we were in line, the owner of the cabin asked me if he could hold Amy for me while I got some food. He figured I'd say no since I've never met him before, but was he surprised when I said yes. He is a grandpa, but all of his grandkids are getting older. His eyes sure lit up when he was holding her. We were talking for a minute and he was asking me questions about Amy. He then turned to Parker and said, "So you must be the baby's daddy!" It was hilarious, at least to the two of us. Parker quickly responded that he's only 17 and I responded that Parker is my cousin. It is now our new little joke. I love Parker. My mom babysat him when he was a newborn up until he went to school and I got to help. I still love that I got to be the first cousin to hold him. I'm almost 8 years older than him and he is probably a foot taller.

Well, after lunch, we decided to head back to the cabin to take the -ad's (Chad, Brad and my Dad) some food.  Little did we know what was going on inside as we pulled up. While cleaning the coal burning fireplaces, you can imagine we all got a little dirty. Brad had the bad end of the deal and was filthy. He took a shower while we were gone and got out of the shower to find out that he left his change of clothes at home. He was running around wearing Chad's basketball shorts and no shirt. He needed something to wear home and this is what searching through the closets came up with.

Chad pulled out the camera, so Brad started frolicking through the cabin. We thought it was hilarious and Brad had fun trying to embarrass Parker. They had to get back to Grandma's to mow the lawn. Parker, who doesn't always offer to help, offered to run car keys into my grandparents so Brad wouldn't, and offered to do the whole lawn by himself so Brad could just hang out in the car.

That weekend, we also had Amy's baby blessing in my parent's ward. It was better to do it there than in our ward since everyone but us and Chad's parents live up north. We didn't want to make too many people travel. It was nice to have most everyone together.

Brittany (she's going to have a baby girl in August)

Sally and Amy

Joslyn and Amy. Sorry it's sideways but again, the computer is a little crazy and I"m too lazy to fix it.

All of the Bishoff cousins...so far.

Grandma Bishoff and Chad's Aunt Julie.

John and Christine (She is due in July)
(At the time of this post, she had her baby last week!)

Mark, the oldest of the 4 cousins to be graduating in 2030.

Sweet Amy

2 months old!!

Scott and Kiley. Kiley loves all of her uncles but there is some bond that she and Scott have that I haven't been able to figure out yet.

2 months old, and a few days. But who's counting.

Kiley and Amy have matching dresses. Kiley loves to pick out her own clothes and sometimes helps to pick out Amy's, mine and Chad's. She is very helpful. This particular Sunday she would not get dressed unless Amy was wearing the same thing. She's such a goof! Amy is just over 2 months in this picture.

And last but not least, this is how we found Kiley sleeping one night. She is quite funny in the ways she sleeps, but she sleeps and that is all that really matters!!!
