Things are progressing!

We went to the Dr. today and I am now dilated to a 2. (The scale goes from 0-10, 10 being ready to push the baby out!)
The question is...When do you think this baby is coming? Post your guess in the comments and we'll see who is the closest.
For your info, I am 38 weeks tomorrow(Thursday) and the due date is April 5. Also to note, Kiley was born 3 days early.

Oh, there is also a poll on the right hand side of the blog. The results of the poll will most likely not be taken into account, I'm just curious what everyone else thinks.

Quackie, the duck!

On Saturday, Chad decided we needed a duck in our house. We had to go into town to grab a few things and decided to stop by Cal-Ranch to let Kiley look at the chicks and ducks. I was told we were only going to look at the ducks and that Chad had no intention of buying any. Well, this is not what happened. After telling the workers that we didn't need any help and Kiley was just looking, Chad all of the sudden told them that we needed a duck. So, we left the store with a duck. I won't lie, I was kind of excited. I've been a little jealous of some of our neighbors who have little chicks at their house. Chad has been really jealous of those neighbors as well as his brother Preston who just built a chicken coup in his backyard and bought some little chicks. So now we have a duck.

The duck has really taken a liking to Daisy. Daisy wasn't so sure of it at first, but has spent the last 3 days cuddling with it and cleaning up its poop. (Lucky for us, we don't have to worry about it when its not in it's box.) The duck will follow Daisy all over the kitchen and snuggle in to Daisy and climb all over Daisy. For those of you who are wondering if Daisy is going to eat it...No. She is doing a great job at protecting it. We've left the two of them alone for quite a few hours and Daisy hasn't tried to attack the duck. The funny thing is that when Daisy's not around, the duck goes crazy looking for Daisy. And the duck is the calmest when it is cuddled up to Daisy. Who knew ducks and dogs would be such good friends.

Kiley loves to pet the duck and look at it while we are holding it or it's in its box. She, however, is not a fan of it if it is running around on its own. I hope you all enjoy this video. I promise, we don't try to scare her all the time, we just wanted to get it on video. I usually put the duck away when Kiley is awake and in the kitchen.

March Madness!!

The weather at the beginning of March was beautiful! We had some fun days playing outside. We found some chalk for $1 the other day and I bought it for Kiley's Easter present. Well, because it has been so nice, we decided to get the chalk out early and see what Kiley thought of it. She loves the chalk and has loved being able to play outside and draw on everything: the sidewalk, house, cars, fence, herself, oh and Daisy. She is pretty funny.

 Kiley also has been really clingy lately. She loves to cuddle with Mom and Dad, but doesn't like it when Mom and Dad cuddle. She also loves to feel and kiss her baby sister. She is going to be a sweet big sister which is coming very soon!! Hopefully, she really will be sweet and have a sudden drastic change. Fingers crossed.

 So Kiley has been addicted to the movie "Tangled." She calls it "Neigh" because of the horse in it. We have probably watched Tangled twice everyday in March. The last few days haven't been very warm outside so its hard to tell her no, especially since I've been so tired. But now that the weather is warming up again, she's been limited to one time a day and it is usually Dad who puts it on for her. Maybe we'll be able to kick this little habit and get her watching something a little more educational. It is nice that Tangled is such a good movie though. It means that when I realize I'm the only one in the room watching, I don't feel so silly like I do when getting caught up in Wiggles or some other silly kids show.

I love Pinterest!! I try to limit myself to only getting on a couple times a week, or for a few minutes at a time. Well, I found a fabulous recipe for homemade finger paints. Since it was snowing one day, I decided to try it out. It was fabulous and Kiley couldn't have been happier. The best part for me was that I didn't have to worry about her eating the paints since they are made out of flour, sugar and water. She loved painting, but was pretty set on only using purple and green. I would have to say that purple is her favorite color, at least for now. Any other colors you see on the picture are my doing. I kept trying to get her to use other colors but she would throw a huge fit when I would take away the purple and green. She is sure silly.

Kiley is 20 months old now and is doing a lot. She is a huge climber and loves to climb on everything. She has  finally stopped falling off chairs and is being a little more cautious. She loves to do art projects and color, especially with markers and chalk. She loves being outside and helping Dad in the yard. She also is talking non stop. Chad and I love to listen to her when she wakes up in the mornings or when we put her down for her naps. She will sit and talk to herself or her stuffed animals. She also is starting to try to tell us all kinds of stories. Some of her words are still only known by Mom and Dad. And sometimes it takes both of us to figure out what she is saying, but a lot of her words are extremely clear and just about anyone would be able to catch on. She also loves to sing songs and will often be caught singing to herself. We don't always know what song she is singing but she loves it and will clap for herself when she is done with the song.
She is mischief everywhere she goes. She loves to empty the drawer with all of the wash cloths and hide her Minnie and baby in the drawer. She also loves to empty her clothes out of her drawer and put all of her dirty clothes into the drawer. She is a sweetheart and we love her a whole lot!! I can't believe how old and independent she is getting.

February continued....

Kiley has been really into wearing our shoes around the house. Whenever she sees our shoes, she puts them on and attempts to walk around. This attempt usually only lasts a few minutes because she trips and falls almost every time. She looks so goofy with big shoes on, but it's pretty cute. Its really funny to watch her try to wear Chad's shoes around. They are so much bigger and heavier than mine so Kiley can only walk with one shoe on. The other day she tried to put on Chad's old work boots. She got one on and it went up to her thigh. It was pretty funny to watch!

We watched Davin the day before Valentine's Day so our friends, Taylor and Michelle could go out. (They watched Kiley on Valentine's so Chad and I could do the same.) Kiley loves Davin and was so excited for him to come over. As I was making dinner for the 4 of us, Chad found Kiley tormenting Davin. Davin was minding his own business, playing with a car in the windowsill. Kiley kept doing her best to kiss him anywhere she could. Yes, she did get him on the lips once. I don't think Davin was very happy about it, but he didn't try to kill her so that's good. Maybe he was pretending he was annoyed but really was enjoying the whole thing. I wouldn't put it past him! :)

It finally snowed again. As soon as it was somewhat warm, we headed outside to see the snow. Kiley is slowly figuring out that the snow can be fun, but she is still unsure about it. She doesn't like to walk in it and is a little scared of being pulled around in the sled!! I guess its a good thing we never made it sledding this year. She probably would have cried the whole time. Maybe next year will be better...if we get any snow!!

We took another trip up to Salt Lake over President's weekend. We went up to Chad's uncle's 50th Birthday Party. Chad decided to set up a fishing trip at Rockport Res. with his dad and brothers. There was a competition going on up there all winter. Some local business caught 40 fish and tagged them. They then released them. Anyone who caught a tagged fish won a prize. The prizes ranged from a pizza up to $2,500. Chad did not catch a prize winning fish, but he out fished the others. He is always so proud of himself when he wins that competition.

The last week of February, we went with the Blanco's to do a cookout! The kids had a lot of fun running around in the dirt and eating chips. They also had fun playing in the back of the Jeep. Kiley learned a new word at this cookout. "Poop." Davin had a stinky diaper and so while Taylor was changing it, Kiley stood by and watched. Taylor was talking to Kiley and Davin about how Davin had pooped and since then, Kiley cannot stop saying poop. Anytime we change her diaper she points down and says "poop," even when she hasn't pooped. Its kinda funny. Taylor also had brought some plates for the cookout and instead of being used for food, the kids used them as their own personal shovels and buckets. They could not get enough of putting dirt on the plates and dumping it off. Easily entertained makes for easy work for me! :)

Kiley is really loving her dad right now. She gets so excited every time he comes home from work. She also has an off day if he isn't there to cuddle with her in the mornings. He usually gets up with her and lets me sleep for an extra 30-60 minutes. The last Sunday in February, Chad had either home teaching or a meeting and Kiley was not excited for him to leave. But she was so happy to have him come home. She found his tie and thought it was great to wear it around. I love how happy she is to see him!! And it melts Chad's heart every time he pulls up and she's waiting for him at the window. 

Kiley is a mischief maker in the kitchen. Tuesday night is our pizza night. Kiley loves to help make the pizza crust and then eat the dough. She also loves to just eat the flour.

Well, that's about it for February. Hope you all had a great Leap Day as well as Valentine's and President's Day. We sure did!!

So February was another very busy month! It seems like we were out of town almost every weekend, even though we really weren't. While we were home though we did some fun things. Kiley got her first hair cut. No, I do not know how to cut hair. No, I am not going to pay someone to cut her hair until she has enough to actually cut. I decided to cut her hair only because she had a beautiful little mullet that needed to go. I figured, I couldn't make it look any worse than it already did so I just went for it! It didn't look fabulous, but it wasn't too shabby either. And Kiley was pretty good at holding still, once Chad stopped taking pictures and I put her in her high chair to color. 

This is Kiley's "duck" shirt that she thinks she needs to wear all the time. And no, those are not ducks, they are chicks. But what's the difference to her I guess. 

 We spent a Saturday afternoon at Snow Canyon State Park near St. George. We went to some kid sand dunes and let Kiley get dirty. If you saw the pictures from California last June, you would assume that Kiley loves the sand. You could also look at how many times I've caught her playing in the dirt and mud at home and come to the assumption that she loves playing in the sand. However, on this occasion, she was not thrilled to let go of my hand. She had fun walking in it and watching the other kids play in it, but when it came time to let go of Mom and play, she was very nervous. It took her a few minutes before she was sure enough to take a step in the sand. We of course put her on a little hill and she tried walking down to us and fell. She was not very happy about that until she figured out that while sitting in the sand, she could get bigger handfuls to throw.

 After visiting the Sand Dunes, we took a short hike to a little slot canyon. Kiley thought it was pretty cool and she loved being carried by her dad. We didn't use the back pack because she really wanted to walk and the hike literally took 5 minutes, with Kiley walking most of the way. In the canyon, there were some cave like things just big enough for Kiley to sit in. We put her in one of them and she was not happy at all!! She just kept saying "no, no, no" to us and then when we didn't listen, she started to cry. Well, the crying worked. We took her out, but not before getting a picture!!

Our first trip up to Salt Lake in February was for our nephew's blessing. Chad started the weekend by hitting the slopes again with his brothers for an evening of skiing/snowboarding. The brothers seem to have gotten together every year for the past few years and done a day or night of skiing together. Chad really enjoys this tradition!!

The following is a video of Scott, Preston and John going off a jump. Chad is recording because he says he's too chicken to do things like that. I don't judge him because I'm too chicken to ski down a hill at more than a snails pace. Again, this may not be that cool to some of you, but I'm sure someone out there will think this is fabulous!

Saturday was spent in Logan for Mark's blessing. Scott rode up with us and kept Kiley happy the whole way. She was very upset when we dropped him off and he wouldn't get back in the car. She loves all of her uncles but there is just something between her and Scott that I haven't been able to figure out. Maybe it is because he and Britt used to live in Cedar and watch her every once in a while. I really have no idea but that is my guess. Anyway, you would think that going to Mark's blessing, we would have taken pictures of Mark. But no, we didn't take any. But here are a few that Chad did take. Notice I wrote that Chad took them. Which explains a few of them!

Well, that sums up the first two weeks of February. Stay tuned for the end of February because there sure was some love in the air...I bet you can't wait to see that!!

Kiley loves to watch sports. One day we were watching something on KBYU and she accidentally changed the channel. It went to some other BYU station that happened to be replaying old basketball games. Kiley could not get enough of it. She also loved watching the Super Bowl, and not for the commercials. She had so much fun yelling "Touch Down" with her hands in the air. She also loved cheering for the teams whenever they would catch the ball. She got confused though when we would "boo" the other team, so we just stuck to clapping and cheering for both teams.
Kiley loved the halftime show during the Super Bowl. She danced the whole time, while also eating fruit loops from her necklace made in nursery.
The video starts out dark but it will lighten up after a few seconds.
I realize this is a little long and isn't all that exciting, but I do know some grandparents who would be more than thrilled to see this. And that is why it is being posted!

January

I realize I could go into a lot more detail if I would only keep up on my blog. If only I would take the time to blog once a week, I could cover all my bases. However, I am a slacker and will hopefully slowly slack less.

So here is my update on January with the pictures to go with it.

Kiley loves to help Chad wash the car. Looking at how Chad is dressed you would never guess that it is the first week of January. We have had a lot of really nice weather this year. I have been grateful for it because it gives Kiley a chance to play outside during the day. 

These are pictures of Kiley's tantrum. She decided she wasn't done helping Chad with the car, but he was done with her help. I got to be the bad guy and make her go inside. Luckily I also had the camera!

Kiley loves to "do the dishes." She uses the dish wand to scrub the same section of sink and countertop until there are giant puddles of water on the floor and soap bubbles all the way down the cupboards. She is a big helper. We just need to work on our patience with her help.

Kiley loves to eat. We had muffins for breakfast this day. Well, Kiley later decided she was in need of a snack and all she wanted was a muffin. She's pretty funny!

 So Kiley has been getting into trouble a lot lately! She decided it would be a good idea to draw all over my bedroom door as well as the surrounding walls. Now this usually wouldn't be a big deal. Crayola has posted on their website how to remove marker and crayon from all types of surfaces. I looked up how to remove crayon and proceeded to work on getting it off. However, the problem came when I realized that the crayon easily came off the wall but not our door. I then realized that when the people built our house, they did not paint this particular door. Yes, the other doors are all painted, and the back side of this door is painted, just not the side Kiley colored on. So, the "primer" or whatever has made the door white, has been removed to a degree and there are still wonderful crayon drawings on our door. She has continued to draw on walls and doors when we are not looking and I have given up the fight. I will wash all of the walls and paint my door one day. But until then, you can find Kiley's artwork all throughout the house.

Kiley also thinks its funny to sneak into our room and pull the gum out of our dresser. She then runs away with it behind her back and hides from us. Chad caught her in the act this time. Most of the pieces had been bitten in half. She doesn't know what exactly to do with gum, so she just bites it up and spits it out. Luckily, it hasn't gotten stuck to anything yet! And the gum is now completely out of reach...for the next few months until she grows a few more inches. Then we'll have to find another new safe spot.

I turned 25 in January. It was the first year since getting married that I haven't gotten to spend my birthday with my sister-in-law Emily. She was born the day after me so we always celebrate together. We also used to go sledding on one of our birthdays and that didn't happen this year either. It snowed on my birthday but not enough to go sledding. There also are not too many spots we could think of to go sledding this year since the canyon is closed. Oh well, it probably wouldn't have been the smartest thing to do while pregnant, right?

Chad found some stick on tattoos in our cupboard. We've tried putting them on Kiley but she is scared of them. Chad thought it would be funny to stick them to me, but I wasn't a fan of that idea so he came up with a better idea to stick them on Daisy. As you can see from this picture, she's not the happiest dog I've ever seen! She has a cat on her nose just below the peachy spot. She also has a dog on her ear. It is out of focus but you can tell its there. Chad also put one on her hind leg. The funny thing was that they stuck forever. It took a really good bath, or two before they finally came off.

 

These are pictures from our family cookout. It was such a beautiful day that we had to get out and enjoy it. Kiley loved walking around and playing in the dirt. She is now a little weary of the fire...which is good for us! I don't know what Daisy is doing in this picture. Chad took it and I just saw it and thought it was hilarious! Notice the tattoo still on her ear!!

So Chad has been ice fishing quite a few times this winter. I think he has only been skunked once or twice and both times were with his cousin Jason who lives here in Cedar now. These pictures are from a trip to Yankee Meadow(I think). Yankee is usually inaccessible in the winter, but this year we haven't had enough snow to stop everyone. Chad and Taylor are good fishing buddies and we're going to be sad when Taylor and Michelle and Davin head west for Optometry school in August. Dan is in our ward and is also Taylor's boss which makes for funny stories. I'd tell you the stats for this fishing trip, but I don't know them. I want to say everyone caught 7, 8, and 9. I know Chad caught the most though.

Last but not least, January also brought a chance for Chad to go skiing. Preston works at Sundance and was able to get Chad, John and Christine 1/2 price tickets for the day. So off they all went. Chad only goes a few times a year and this was a great opportunity for him. He had a lot of fun, and yes, he was sore when he got home. I don't blame him, I would have been too! They looked like they had a lot of fun and I almost wished I had been up there with them. But I don't ski/snowboard(I've tried both a handful of times and it is not for me), and I'm sure my doctor would have killed me! 

Anyway! January was a fun month! We were able to spend quite a bit of time in SLC it seemed like. We also got to spend some time with my sister Lindsey who moves back to Utah TOMORROW!!! (March 10) It will be nice for Asher and Kiley to see each other more than just a few times each year!! Kiley loves Asher!!
