Addicted...

I realized today that I have an addiction. And the first step to curing an addiction is admitting it. So, my name is Brooke Bishoff and I'm addicted to chapstick!
Chad has tried to point this little fact out to me many times, but I have been in denial about it. I carry it with me everywhere I go. I use it anywhere from once to three times an hour. I never go anywhere without it. If I forget it at home, I will drive back to get it.
So I have decided to put an end to this madness. I am going on strike from my chapstick. I have only been on strike for a few hours but already I am feeling the emptiness in my pocket. As soon as Chad comes home, he will be hiding my chapstick somewhere I cannot find it. Hopefully, this will cure my addiction and I can go back to using it sparingly.

August Adventures!!

We've done a lot in August. We've been away from home every weekend this month and have enjoyed every minute of it. Here are some picts of what we've done.

 And our roses this year have been absolutely gorgeous. All of our flowers in our garden have grown like crazy and have been beautiful all summer long! We love our garden!!

Catch up

So I have been so bad at not keeping updated on here. So here is my attempt at catching up. These picts are from the last two weeks of July. We have been doing lots of fun things this summer. I've noticed that all of my posts written in August have been about July. What a slacker!!!

I love to read!!

 I've been reading the series House of Israel. I love books but am really bad about reading. I get so involved that I don't get anything done around the house. Kiley and Chad both get neglected for 3 to 5 days (it just depends on how long they leave me alone.) This is a really bad habit. So I have now banned myself from reading unless Chad is working on homework and Kiley is thoroughly entertained or alseep. That hasn't happened yet!!

Kiley loved the river that ran through Wheeler Farm. It was FREEZING but she didn't care!!

So we spent the last weekend of July in South Jordan! We got to go to dinner with my grandma Latteier, my mom, and my sister, Heather. We also spent part of the day at a Splash pad in Herriman. We then took the dogs to Wheeler Farm to play in the water and check out the animals. There were some goats that had been born only an hour before. They were really cute. Kiley loved the animals!! We had a lot of fun while we were up there!!

So now I'm all caught up on July and we'll head to August next!!

Pioneer Weekend!!

We spent the weekend of the 24th doing all kinds of fun things!! We spent Thursday night at Chad's grandparents house! Grandma and Grandpa Bishoff love Kiley and she loves them. On Friday, we went to Chad's Uncle Gary's house and rode Grandpa's horse (Angel) for a few minutes. Kiley wasn't so much a fan of the horses. She liked them from afar but when she was given the chance to ride one, she let us know how much she didn't like it. She loved looking at the cows, the cows didn't like her much though. She also loved the dogs running around Uncle Gary's house. We had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa Bishoff.

Friday afternoon we headed over to Moab. One good thing about stopping at Grandpa Bishoff's house is that he  and Chad's dad look alike. This makes it so Kiley already is warmed up to her grandpa after spending some time with her great-grandpa. It seems to make Ken happy when Kiley is so excited to see him as though she's been playing with him all day long. Friday night we had a little cook-out while we waited for Cynthia to get off work and John, Christine, Scott and Brittany to get into town.

Saturday was a day full of busy fun. We started by hiking to Delicate Arch! It is beautiful! Did you know?!? Delicate Arch was actually named Landscape Arch? Someone messed that up on the map and they never fixed it. If you see Landscape Arch it is very delicate (hence it breaking some more last year). And the landscape around it is not that impressive. Delicate Arch is not very delicate and has a beautiful landscape! Funny eh?

Anyway, after hiking to the arch, we went to spend the afternoon cooling off at Ken's Lake. Kiley again was not a fan! We finally talked her into sitting in a few inches of water playing with a cup. Chad went snorkeling and found $5 which made his day!

After the afternoon at Ken's lake we went back to the house and had a BBQ which was yummy. While we waited for dessert, Scott launched some pretty awesome rockets from the backyard. Don't worry, no fires were involved in this rocket launch. Oh and Scott also made some homemade fireworks. Fire was present in this, but it was lots of fun!! We ended the night looking for bullfrogs. The boys found a couple as well as some crawdads! Chad hooked one to Scott's shirt and it was not about to let go. That made for some funny entertainment!

We had a great weekend and had the opportunity to see Cynthia one more time before she left for Denver. We're going to miss seeing her around when we are in Moab and we hope that she has a good experience in Colorado! We love you and can't wait to see you again!!

Outdoor Adventures

We've been spending a lot of time outside lately. These are just a couple of our July adventures.

We went with our good friends, The Blancos, on a 6 mile hike for a couple hours of fishing. Everyone caught quite a few fish. They are only a few inches long but they are fun to catch!

We've been doing a lot of hiking. The water levels have finally gone down so we were able to hike up to Flannigan Arch. It was absolutely beautiful. Kiley loved it! Chad had been using a walking stick he had found. On our way back down the canyon, he lost it in the river. He was sad and thought it was gone forever. We were following some people and Chad wasn't a fan of that so we stopped to wait for them to get a ways ahead of us. While we were waiting, we looked in a water hole and found the stick. He was very happy to have it back!!

Kiley got this awesome car for her birthday from her Aunt Heather. She loves pushing it all over the house and outside. She also loves to drive it with a bucket on her head. What a goof!
